About

I was born on the north side of Chicago during the Depression.  Our family, like most others, was poor. We lived only a few miles from Lake Michigan and my older brother and father helped put food on the table by catching Perch there as often as possible. But the joy of being outdoors, enjoying nature and the pleasure of eating fresh caught Perch was probably stronger than the necessity of it. Once I was old enough to pay heed to them, the two of them quickly introduced me to the sport and devoted years to sharing with me their love of fishing and the outdoors. Consequently, fishing has always been a favorite activity for me. Over the ensuing 70 years I have had the pleasure of fishing in many parts of North America.  Along the way I have used all kinds of fishing equipment.  The rods, reels, line, lures, and even the hooks have evolved as new materials and manufacturing techniques have been developed. The Fish Lure Guide is my attempt to share a little of what I have learned and been taught about all the lures and baits that we anglers use.
